Welcome Parents!!!
Dear Parents,
As Commander of the Nu Beta Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity at Huntingdon College, I would like to take this opportunity both to thank you for your continued support and encouragement of our Chapter, and also to inform and update you on exactly what it is that we’ve been up to over the last couple of semesters. First, the Nu Beta Chapter would like to thank you for all that you’ve done for us and for all that you continue to do! Our fraternity has a huge advantage over other Greek organizations on campus, in that our brothers have tremendous parents who are always willing to give of their time, money, and effort to make sure that we are successful in all that we do. We thank you for keeping an open mind about letting your son join a fraternity, and for being patient enough to discover that Nu Beta is something far greater than any stereo-type. There’s no doubt that our members are some of the finest gentlemen at Huntingdon College who genuinely strive to live by our founding virtues of Love, Honor, and Truth, and we realize, that in this, they are a reflection of you. We truly couldn’t experience the success that we do if it wasn’t for you and we thank you!
As a group we’ve accomplished a lot over the past couple of semesters. We were given the Regent’s Award, an award handed out by Sigma Nu National to Chapters who display academic excellence far above and beyond standard achievement. We also represented our fraternity well at the Huntingdon College Greek Awards Banquet, receiving seven of the eight awards that were handed out to fraternities. These awards included but were not limited to a community service award, highest new member GPA, campus involvement, Greek man of the year, new member education, and Greek advisor of the year, which was handed out to our exemplary advisor and head of Huntingdon’s religion department, Dr. Frank Buckner. We have made several upgrades to our Chapter room and had yet another phenomenal Spring Rush, welcoming eleven new guys into the fold. As a Chapter we were proud to not only achieve the highest number of accepted bids yet again, but also because we see great potential in our new guys and are excited about what each of them brings to the table. Since Rush, we’ve been blessed enough to be able to hand out two additional open bids which were promptly accepted. This semester the Nu Beta Chapter is working under the vision of “Honoring our brothers through love” as we continue to push each other towards excellence. With an ever-growing and very dedicated group of alumni and a terrific group of officers, there’s no doubt that Nu Beta is in great hands and will continue to prosper! In closing, I would like to thank you once again for all that you mean to our organization. We look forward to what’s in store for us and hope that we are making you proud!
Fraternally, L. Wesley Anderson
Commander
